On to Gering…and more real ruts

On Sunday, June 22 we moved onto Gering and the Robidoux RV Park. Here we visited Chimney Rock as we arrived, as welll as Courthouse Rock and Jail Rock, all landmarks that were part of the pioneers journey.

We shared a great breakfast with our traveling companions then bisited the Scott’s Bluff National Monument and Oregon Trial Visitors Center. We walked up to the Bluffs and took both the South and North Overlook hikes. While driving this route, these are the first major landmarks we have seen…honest, everything else was flat.

We visited the Legacy of the Plains Museum, they had oodles of artifacts from the pioneer life and it was well laid out. I particularly loved the quilt display.

And, you guessed it, off to the next stop.
