Lander, at Sleeping Bear

Well, June 27 we’ve moved on to Lander, Wyoming. This is a cute little town with yet another Plains Museum we are going to visit. Here we have a beautiful “view” campsite, yep that the view from our rig!

We saw some Pioneer landmarks as we traveled here today: Independence Rock, Martin’s Cove, Devil’s Gate. These were the places that the Pioneers left their names and their marks so those coming afterwards would know who had been here.

Airstreams are pretty cute when they all line up togehter, aren’t they?

There was another great museum in Lander, but at this point the museums are starting to all look and feel the same. This one did have a mysterious skull, a beautiful crazy quilt and lots of nicely displayed stuff, even a goofy turkey.

All in all Lander was a fun place to visit and we certainly could have enjoyed more time here. We also explored “The Sinks” a canyon on a river where one side is completely dry and the other side teams with greenery, while the river itself vanished into the mountain.

All in all a beautiful place I would happily visit again.
