Lava Hot Springs

This was a small village that was brimming with folks due to the 4th of July weekend that was approaching, we arrived on the 1st of July. There were several small towns and springs all around the area and tubing the river though the town is a major activity. The RV Park was fairly new and the site was pretty, but it was below the highway so it was noisy with trucks and air brakes going all night.

We visited one of the smaller springs that you could drink from, the water was a bit odd tasting but clear and cold, we didn’t drink very much. It was peaceful, quiet and a fun get away from the crowded RV park and city.

Our group has had several campfires, but it has been hot enough that a campfire holds little interest, so we move as far awa as we can from the fire, you can see the Solo Stove out in the middle by itself.

On the 3rd of July, we had a baked potato dinner where our guides baked the potatoes in cast iron ovens. It took a while to do, but the potatoes were great, the company good and we ended our meal with sweet watermelon.

Then it was back to pack up and get ready to move again.
