BRN at the ready. So, what is a BRN? A Big Red Number proudly displayed either front or back (or both!) of Airstream Club International Members. It identies us on the road and makes it easy to find the right Airstream when we gather together, because these trailers all look pretty much the same.

And what could go wrong? Well…let’s start with Glider. Glider is a fuzzy hairball of a dog, 3/4 Golden Retriever and 1/4 Labrador -although I would attest to some large portion Wookie. He sheds and looks as if he is double his actual size. So, our middle son decided as we were ready to leave he’d give Glider a trim. Now, I’ve been working on Glider for a few weeks and he was trimmed and pretty even but the boss thought more was a good idea. Armed with honest to goodness dog clippers he trimmed. Note the smooth finish of tuffs on his right side…he will be encouraged to sleep on his left side for the remainder of the trip, the shoulder on the left has a pretty sizable place where it is down to bare skin. Maybe we will carve initials or an arrow so folks don’t think he has mange. Good news he doesn’t seem to care and it gives us both a good laugh everytime we look at him, poor dog.

And then in Emigrant Gap we notice some dark gray clouds. With streaks hurling toward the ground. Followed by huge drops of rain that pelted us for several miles. Now, the thought was the heavy rain would rinse the dust off the trailer and truck. Nope, just got it wet enough to produce world class mud. Ah well, it isn’t raining here in Sparks.
