Evansville Wyoming, more ruts

Today, Tuesday June 24 we moved on to Evansville Wyoming. This area is full of ruts and historic sites all relating to the Oregon Trail. First stop was Fort Laramie, yes it was a misty and rainy day but we all promptly parked and walked to visit this site.

Yes, a big group of Airstreams does make a certian impact on any parking lot.

Even though it was damp and gloomy, the rain wasn’t too cold and we all had a good time exploring Fort Laramie. From there we went on to Explore the Guernsey Ruts. These ruts had all sorts of historical markers within a few miles.

it is amazing how the wagons carved their path through the country as they migrated towards Oregon and California. Another place we visited was Fort Casper, by now the museums and forts are running together just a bit.

And finally, an odd thing to see in Casper, Wyoming that has absolutely nothing to do with the Oregon Trail, a Ghost Busters Car. Think it must be the name Casper…
