More to do before we leave Missouri

So, the first thing we wanted to do after completing repairs on the trailer was the Stetson Factory Outlet. It was a pretty large store with oodles of great hats, from beautiful felt hats to straw hats and everything in between. Yep, a Father’s Day Gift followed us home.

Then it was off to Tour the City of St.Joseph, Missouri as we had a couple of hours before our banquet and a tour that was scheduled. We chose to drive down Hall Street Historic District. This was an amaing array of mansions were awe inspiring, both meticulously restored and those that really looked abandoned and haunted. (more photos to follow)

Our day ended at the Pony Express Museum in St. Joseph were we learned everything about the short lived Pony Express, active for only 18 months it was killed by the telegraph and the development of the railroads. Riders only rode for a few hours and the horses were changed out every 10 miles or so, it worked but not as well as the brains behind it had imagined.

Ready to Ride, Side saddle!
Banquet at Pony Express Museum, hats off at the table.

And then the first official photograph of this Caravan. We ladies were given our bonnets and the guys got scarves and we all posed to memorialize the event. And, we are off tomorrow morning.
