While I have been recording this days after it happens as we have been pretty busy traveling and exploring, today is July 4th and we moved to Glenn’s Ferry. We are staying in Yknot Winery RV sites. Glenns Ferry is the beginning of the last leg of the Pioneers trip before they reach Oregon.
The trip was fun, we got to see the Potato Museum (as you can tell, all our stops are totally serious and educational).

Then moved on to the EBR-1 (Experimental Binder Reactor) which was the first facility to produce nuclear power.

Then onto Craters of the Moon for a peak at the amazing lava tubes and dismal landscape.

But the real excitement for us was the Glenn’s Ferry City Fireworks Display. It’s been years since we have seen a real fireworks display and even then we were far away from it, working through crowds to park and find a place to watch. Here, we watched it from our trailer door! The show had some gaps in timing, but it was a thrill to actually seen and feel the fireworks.

Wishing everyone the same nostalgic happiness we felt watching a real down home fireworks show! Happy Fourth of July!
